Kowari with Sturt Desert Pea flowers I tattooed for Sonia today at @oldsoultattoostudio I came to know of the Kowari while I was working on the cattle station as right next door sits @aridrecovery, the largest feral-proof reserve in Australia. Kowaris are in real trouble: with only about 1,200 left in the wild, scientists estimate they face a 1-in-5 chance of vanishing within the next 20 years. To help turn the tide, 12 Kowaris were released into Arid Recovery as an insurance population, a lifeline to give this fierce little marsupial a fighting chance at survival.
